Ab Pavelizer II Product Review

I first used the Pavelizer a few weeks ago and was very impressed with it. I’m not a big fan of any kind of machine to be frank and so I wasn’t all that hopped up to try it out. My expectations were fairly low as my experienced is that most machines can be cheated…even if it’s not the users intent.

Even though I loved it the first time I used it, I asked myself this question. Don’t I already get enough abs training with the kettlebells, pull ups and barbell work that I do? I thought the question was fair but even though I do my best to really engage my core when I train I wanted more.

So how does the Ab Pavelizer II work?

Here I demonstate it:

I’m sure you’ve noticed how much easier it is to do crunches or sit-ups with your feet anchored by either a partner or a bed. The leverage you enjoy in that position enables your hip flexors to give you a big lever.
On the other hand, if you remove that advantage you are left with nothing to do the work other than the muscles you are trying to smoke in the first place.

If you try to cheat, then two things happen. First, you feet will be raised up by the bar. Same thing will happen if you let go of your glutes. If the glutes are fired and the feet are planted then you will have to work your abs as the hip flexors are turned off. If you fail to keep the butt engaged then you will get instant feedback and start to do it the right way.

Recommended use is 3-7 days a week, 5 sets of 5. Is that all you ask? Believe me…you will neither want more nor will you need more.

Thanks for the demonstration of the Pavelizer! … and the idea of using a kettlebell instead of a standard weight plate. :)

    Terena,

Thanks so much for checking out the video and I’m glad you enjoyed it! I don’t have the type of plates that fit the Pavelizer at home so I make do with the kettlebell :)
