			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As you may know, I&#8217;ve been leading a &#8220;Pilot Distance Coaching&#8221; program for the last six weeks. Over the last few years I&#8217;ve had a number of folks inquire about me coaching them but I had always resisted. Frankly, I wasn&#8217;t sure it was possible or if it would yield results. Also, I wasn&#8217;t sure how to price it even if I could figure out how to do it. My association with one <a href="http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/MartyGallagher" style="color:#3333CC;text-decoration:underline;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='marty gallagher';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">Marty Gallagher</a> has changed my outlook and I know the results can and will be outstanding.</p>
<p>First thing I did was send out emails to all those who had asked me to coach them and ask them to give me their &#8220;whys.&#8221; I wanted to find out how badly they wanted to reach their goals. Why they wanted to change? Why they were sick and tired? Why they were motivated? All of their major motivations. From those responses I winnowed the list down to 6 guinea pigs.</p>
<p>The test was for 6 weeks. We did a weekly conference call as well as a weekly private call with each student.  We put together a training plan that was consistent with goals. We formulated nutritional guidelines. The students were held accountable. The results have been astounding and better than I ever conceived. And the results were consistent. Everyone hit their goals. Not one starved to death or was killed by a workout. They all had fun.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not a great salesman. I&#8217;m a darn good coach, an effective communicator and will hold you to account. You will reach your goals.</p>

<p>I will only coach 10 people at a time. That is the limit imposed by my family obligations, private training obligations, my kettlebell class obligations and my own training. 3 of my original group have signed on for 3 months so I have 7 available spots. <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">(Update: Once I mailed this out to my blog email list 2 more signed up so there are actually <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">5</span> 4 places left)</span></strong></p>
<p>The duration of the program is 12 weeks. If you aren&#8217;t satisfied with your current personal situation, then I guarantee you that my program will change your life. You will get much fitter. Have more confidence and it will impact each facet of your life. Nothing will stay the same.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what you get:</p>

<li>A Customized 12 week training program based solely on      you and your goals. Nothing will be &#8220;cookie cutter&#8221; and we will      make changes on the fly as needed. We will use the training tools that you      have on hand. So you won&#8217;t have to buy kettlebells if you don&#8217;t have them.      We will get results with what you already own or have access to.</li>
<li>Accountability: I won&#8217;t coddle you and tell you what      you want to hear. Your results will be in line with effort and I won&#8217;t let      you be a slacker.</li>
<li>Weekly tasty recipes that will be based on sound      nutrition.</li>
<li>Conference calls from time to time that will be recored as well as a weekly private      one on one call with me your coach. You will have an hour of my undivided      attention so you need to call me each week with specifics on what you need      to talk about. It is your time.</li>

I have a <a href="http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/PTTP" style="color:#3333CC;text-decoration:underline;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/PTTP';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">dead lift</a> coach. I have a <a href="http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/recommendkettlebells" style="color:#3333CC;text-decoration:underline;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='kettlebell';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">kettlebell</a> coach. I have a life coach and I business coach. And finally, I have a son, who at 5 years old may be the most effective teacher I have.</p>
<p>What defines a coach? In my mind, it is a person who helps you realize your full potential and guides you to find your best path. It is quite difficult to self coach. Typically, I find it hard as all get out to look at myself objectively. That&#8217;s why I try to surround myself to those I can look up to. Folks who will tell it to me like it is and help me have that &#8220;ah ha&#8221; moment.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve found that some folks avoid coaching. Being coached can be scary and some do all they can not to be accountable. Also, good coaches don&#8217;t do your work for you. They simply help you figure out the work you need to do to hit you goals. If you don&#8217;t want to get better than there is certainly no reason to be coached. I mean what would the point be? If the status quo is appealing then coaching makes no sense.</p>
<p>May I ask you something? Are you better off today then you were 5 years ago? Financially? Physically? Mentally? The way you look and feel?</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re not where you want to be then you owe it to yourself to ask why? I purposefully have tried to surround myself with folks who know more than I do. And who aren&#8217;t afraid to let me know what I need to work on. Who are you surrounding yourself with?</p>
<p>So you are probably wondering how my son is my most effective coach. Well, in the 5 years since he was born he has taught me much. First he&#8217;s taught me that if you give your best effort it is amazing what you can achieve. Each <a href="http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/easy" style="color:#3333CC;text-decoration:underline;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/easy';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">day</a>, he tries his hardest and keeps having amazing results.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s taught me how patience is an ultimate virtue. That if you keep doing the little things over and over you create a snowball. And once that ball is rolling who knows how big it will grow.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s taught me how much a smile and a hug are worth. The list goes on and on.</p>
<p>Why do I bring all this up? Simple. I got an email today from another fitness professional asking why I would send her an email announcing my <a href="http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/sandys-journal/distance-coaching/" target="_blank">Pilot Distance coaching</a>. To be honest, I made a mistake and she wasn’t supposed to be on the list of those that got the announcement. Still, it got me thinking….She had kind of an uppity tone…”Like I’ve been in this business for 7 years! Why on Earth would you think I need a coach??”</p>

Some of  you have received daily workouts at one time or another. Maybe you’ve been a private or class client of Charm City Kettlebells. Perhaps you’d just inquired about investing in kettlebells or had some questions for me? <p>Now here is the exciting news! I’ve been contacted by more than a few of you who are interested in receiving Distance Coaching to help you meet and exceed your fitness goals. I’ve shied away from it in the past for a number of reasons but I’d be doing you and me a disservice to continue to waver on this. So here’s the deal.</p>
<p>I’m going to run an exclusive Coaching Program for just 7 folks. The focus of the 6 week program will be to educate and teach you how to eat and workout to help you reach your long term goals. Each week we will have a tele-conference for the whole group and also you will have a private one on one phone consult. I am going to run this pilot just like I will run the program when it opens up for the general public. Your investment will be one of time and not of money. This will be free!</p>
<p>You will be accountable to read, study and do some work outside of the calls.  My whole goal is to help you create a sustainable lifestyle to be fit and healthy. You aren’t going to lose tons of weight in 6 weeks but we will get the ball rolling. As I noted a few weeks ago, I’ve gone from 208 to 180 in 14 weeks.  The really exciting thing is that I’ve managed to get stronger in that time frame. Obviously, your results may be better or worse than mine.</p>
<p>Here’s what you won’t be: Hungry, miserable, lethargic and generally unhappy. We won’t be discussing anything that remotely resembles calorie restriction. Frankly, then it becomes a diet and diets are systems that are bound to fail  in the long run. Rather, you and I will come up with a framework of exercise, and an eating style that will leave you invigorated and full of life.</p>
<p>How will you be accountable?  You will keep an nutritional log during the 6 week program.  Activity Logs will be kept, workouts noted. Questions will be recorded so we can discuss and assist you.</p>
<p>So how do you sign up? As I said above, this will be for 7 folks. Number 1, you must be motivated to alter your lifestyle. As I said, this isn’t a diet. It may require radical changes for you or it may not. For me, I made some subtle, but important and obviously effective, modifications.  Number 2: You must communicate your “why” to me. There isn’t an application to be part of the pilot but you will need to email me and explain why you should be one of the 7 for the Pilot.  And I’m not even going to share what I’m looking for in order to make my decision. I need to hear it from you in your own words.</p>

<p>The deadline for application is Monday December 7, 2009 at 12:00 PM EST. I will inform all the students no later than the 14<sup>th</sup>. The program will commence on December 28, 2009 and end the week of February 5, 2010. The teleconferences will be recorded so you will miss an opportunity to participate if you aren’t able to be on the line but you won’t miss the information.  Your private one on one consults will be scheduled in advance. These will be vital to your <a href="http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/Mindset" style="color:#3333CC;text-decoration:underline;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/Mindset';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">success</a> and you will not be able to reschedule them. You will need to put them on your calendar without fail.</p>
<p>If you are chosen to be in the program, you will need to invest in two text books. I will need proof that you actually purchased them as they will be using them throughout the program and you will want to refer to them afterward as well.</p>
<p>Finally, I’m neither a Doctor nor a nutritionist. I want me giving medical advice or prescribing a diet. I am someone who is passionate about your success and mine. If I don’t’ know the answer to something I have some amazing resources available to me that should allow me to gather the information fairly quickly. I live and breathe what I will be sharing with you. This IS NOT a <a href="http://www.charmcitykettlebells.com/recommendkettlebells" style="color:#3333CC;text-decoration:underline;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='kettlebell';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">Kettlebell</a> coaching program! If you use them already, then you more than likely will hear a thing or two from me that may help you. If you don’t use them, then you may develop an interest in checking them out. And certainly,  exercise is a vital component to health but in  your private consult we will discuss your current regimen and we may tweak it to give you the most benefit.</p>
