Training Week in Review
By Sandy Sommer RKC on in Sandy's Journal, Training Tips & Tricks
I hope you all had an excellent week of training!
Things are winding down for me as I get ready for the Tactical Strength Challenge next Saturday. The TSC is an amazing even apparently and I am looking forward to my first foray into it.
My current training program was designed by Mike T. Nelson, CSCS, RKC. You will notice that the it is quite specific the TSC, where you do all of three events. The dead lift, tactical pull up and a 5 minute kettlebell snatch test.
- Monday- Goal was 80 snatches in 4 minutes and I knocked it out in 3 minutes and 50 seconds. 10 minutes of Turkish Get ups. 3 ladders with 3 rungs of Tactical Pull Ups
- Tuesday- Medicine ball slams (mirror of the snatch), light rotational kettlebell press.
- Wednesday-3 sets of 12, 6 per side heavy kettlebell snatches. 45 regular weight snatches with one hand switch. 10 minutes of pushups and goblet squats alternating.
- Thursday-Dead Lifts. 2 sets of 3 reps of 315 pounds. one set of 2 reps of 315. I have done all I can on this current cycle and will start a new cycle after the TSC.
- Friday- 100 snatches in 5 minutes. 3 ladders with 3 rungs, tactical pull ups.
Pretty solid week and you can see that the training is very specific to my competition next Saturday.
I look forward to sharing my results with you after next weekend!
