Sandy, you are right on the money about visualizing a goal. I think taking that one step further and not only SEEING oneself at a goal but FEELING what it will feel like to be at that goal is important. We must FEEL what it will be like to make consistently good choices, FEEL what it will be like to feel muscle instead of fat when we shower or dress ourselves. FEEL what our new clothes will feel like. FEEL what it will be like to turn down bread and/or dessert and not miss it. WE HAVE TO FEEL IT! Even those people who have never been the size/level of fitness they dream of can IMAGINE it. I once thought this was too hokey, too new-age (yeah, yeah I know Norman Vincent Peale and all that but I still thought it felt new age), and I felt like it was being vain to visualize such things. It is powerful, though, and a skill people should cultivate.
