Back in the Blogosphere
By Sandy Sommer RKC on in Sandy's Journal
I’ve been away from blogging now for a few weeks. For a few reasons; but mainly as we worked out the final details of this new site. We have now combined my blog and my business site into one WordPress site and I think it’s pretty nice. Welcome and I hope you agree.
There’s a lot going on in my world right now. Should be announcing a new Towson Fall Russian Kettlebell Class schedule in the near future. Look for details.
I’m heading up to PA to see my strength guru Marty Gallagher this weekend to go deeper into my dead lift.
A few weeks from then I will be testing my Secret Secret Service Snatch Test again and will report back. Will also test my max Military Press with the Kettlebell. My 1rm is 4o KG (88 pounds) I will see how many reps I can knock out.
Today’s training was spot on to a degree. Woke up early as I knew it would be a scorcher here and did 266 swings
in 14 minutes with the 32 kg kettlebell. I felt great but since my hands were soaking wet the grip component of this session was more than I bargained for. Later on, I decided that running 40 yard wind sprints was a smart thing. Keep in mind that I haven’t run sprints at full out speed in quite some time (read years). And I also was wearing my Vibram Five Fingers. Trying to recreate August football two-a-days is intellingent enough with out deciding to run essentially barefoot. Oh well!

Sandy,
This looks great! And I want to thank you again for some months back recommending the book by Dr. Carol S. Dweck – “Mindset – The New Psychology of Success”. What a great book – I am recommending it to EVERYONE – and will especially encourage the parents of my incoming 9th graders to buy it and READ IT! Talk to you soon and this new site looks great.
